Beyond Discomfort: Why Inclusive Leadership Is So Hard (and what you can do about it)

Leading inclusively is without doubt one of the most challenging things you will have to do as a leader.

Creating collective organisational practices, where all leaders are engaged and role modelling inclusion, is even harder.

Why? Because when it comes to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), conversations, learnings and approaches to work and others, cut to the core of who we are - our belief system, our values, what we were taught about right and wrong as children, and ultimately what we stand for as leaders.

Before you can become an inclusive leader, first you need to understand what is standing in your way. Through storytelling, Nadia Nagamootoo, founder of Avenir, a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) consultancy, shares why leaders can be resistant, hesitant and fearful of stepping into DEI and what we all can do to facilitate openness and active participation.

During this important 60 minute workshop Nadia will guide you to:

- Reflect on your own viewpoint and the work you need to do to lead inclusively.

- Develop empathy with other leaders' DEI perspectives and learn how best to respond.

- Better understand some key DEI sticking points and how to overcome them.

We can all, always do more to broaden our horizons, both in terms of our values and biases, and the standard that we set ourselves in terms of best practice. As women, we are already a marginalised group. We make up part of the inclusion story, but there is so much more to learn, appreciate and understand.

Your colleagues and your industry need you to make time for DEI training. Do not miss this workshop.

Recording available if you cannot make the date.
